  • What is this Subscribe button?
  • How do I get it in my Facebook Profile?
  • What are the Pros and Cons?

What is Facebook Subscribe button?

Facebook Subscribe button allows other users to get access to your posts on the wall made public without being your friend. The other user need not be your friend but can access your posts and comment also. Ofcourse you can control the settings.

How to allow others to subscribe?

Visit Subscribe and click on ‘Allow Subscribers’ button. That’s it half the job done. Why only half the job? because you need to control settings otherwise your privacy will be on a toss. Next half the job we will discuss now.

Once you allow to subscribe then you can find your “Subscribers” link in your Profile page. Here in the right side, you can find “Edit Settings” link to control the subscriber’s comments, notifications.

The following image you will find Subscribers link in your profile page:

Also, once you select any friend Facebook id then you will see the following options as in the image below:

What are the pros and cons?

If the users allow this facility and not aware of how to control the data they share on their walls then certainly this is a concern of the privacy.

Users who only follow/subscribe to you and not in friends list then count of them may not be shown with the Like box in the websites.

Provided the above two exceptions, it increases the breadth of the Facebook users to share information even to a non-friend.

One can control the comments of the subscribers to be received or not and also the notification settings with regard to these subscribers.

Now even posts in your personal Facebook id can also be shared in this manner by controlling the way you post on the wall either as Public access or not and without giving access to the rest of your Facebook information.
