Now one can pay TOEFL iBT Test fees in Indian Currency. Yes, INR is now accepted. You can pay through credit card. Previously only US Dollars are accepted and credit card companies use to charge high exchange rates for this.
Not only INR but Euro and Yen are also accepted currencies through online registration system. This system has the potential of cost-savings.
“This enhancement to the TOEFL registration process was based on feedback from test takers and illustrates another step ETS has taken to make the testing experience more convenient and efficient for students throughout India,” comments David Hunt, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ETS’s Global Division. “And is part of a wider goal to accept other local currencies around the world to increase access for students.”
TOEFL test is the most accepted English language test used by more than 8000 institutes globally. It is used as a benchmark for analyzing the learning, comprehension, reading and writing skills in English.
